Is BlackFries an accelerator?
No. We do not provide a fixed-duration programme followed by occasional mentoring. We become an operational and long-term shareholder.

BlackFries invests significant time, expertise and operational resources. Capital is raised through private investors, seed funds and venture capital partners and may, in some cases, be complemented by BlackFries.
How much equity can a CEO receive?
A CEO leading a BlackFries Original can earn up to 30% of the company, depending on long-term commitment and agreed revenue and profitability objectives.
Can an existing company join?
Yes. BlackFries considers projects at every stage, from initial concept to operating company.
How much equity does BlackFries take in an existing company?
The structure is discussed individually based on the company's stage, existing team, needs and the contribution expected from BlackFries.
What sectors does BlackFries support?
BlackFries is generalist, with a preference for responsible, scalable businesses with limited dependency on complex hardware.
Where is BlackFries based?
BlackFries is based in Brussels. Belgium is generally used as an initial validation market, but our ventures are built with international expansion in mind.
How long does BlackFries remain involved?
We build long-term relationships. Operational involvement evolves as the company recruits dedicated teams, but BlackFries remains a strategic shareholder throughout the company's journey.
How many new companies does BlackFries create?
Our objective is to launch between two and four new Originals each year.
